Have you ever felt like your the only one who feels a certain way? Elijah did too. In 1 Kings he says, ” I alone am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.”
The Lord responds by showing him there were over 7,000 people in the land who had not bowed their knee to a false God. He wasn’t alone. He felt alone. Why? Because he believed in his mind that he was alone.
Have you ever been in a scenario where you were waiting for a loved one and they were late…so your mind starts to wander. Before you know it your picking out their songs for the funeral!
Maybe I’m the only one that has a brain that can imagine well. If you have ever done this where you imagined getting word that there has been an accident and your loved one hasn’t made it…your brain has thought it and so you start to feel it.
Right when your imagining the funeral they walk in the door and you sigh this big sigh of relief. But your body and mind was able to produce emotions based on what your were feeling. Even though it was not true!
How we feel is directly related to what we were just thinking. You wake up and you think oh my I hurt and I’m tired and I don’t want to get up. You drag yourself awake and say to yourself, this is going to be a bad day.
If you think this, it probably will be a bad day. However, if you say to yourself, you know what Lord I need a fresh fire from you and turn on worship music, soon you feel differently.
My Pearl today is the power of changing your feelings by thinking different thoughts. Especially God’s thoughts.
